What can you expect when working with Orange Lotus?

Obtaining a Quote & Signing the Contract

In order to receive a quote for your manuscript, you must provide the following information:

After receiving this information, I will then supply you with a personalized quote.

*It should be noted that each rate listed on the services page are estimations. These are typically the MAXIMUM rates I would charge. However, if your manuscript needs extensive work, we would discuss any changes in the rate beforehand.

Once we come to an agreement regarding your personalized quote, we will move on to the contract. The contract will outline the scope of work to be done, work process, fees, delivery of manuscript, payment & invoices, work product ownership, as well as confidentiality.

The contract is in place to protect both author and editor, offering accountability and clarity.

*Fees and payment will be different if you choose to move forward with one of the editing packages (Amber, Topaz, and Amethyst).

Editing Your Work

This is my favorite part!

As the contract states, this is when I will go through your work with absolute careful adoration. I love the written word. I love reading. I love writing. But I am passionate about editing. I take pride in helping writers bring their stories to life through the editing process, while always ensuring that their voices remain heard.

Every once in awhile an edit may take longer than originally predicted. If this happens, it will be discussed in advance. It is important that we (editor & author) remain in a constant conversation throughout this process. I want you to be successful. I want your story to be heard. So, don't be afraid to ask questions and voice your concerns!

For each editing service that I provide, your manuscript will be read through at least three times. Changes will be made to the the document before it is returned to you; these changes will be marked through Microsoft Word's track changes feature.

*I pride myself on cultivating, and maintaining, long-lasting client-editor relationships. This means, even after your manuscript is completed & published, I'll still be available to you. :)

Returning Your Work

Once I've completed the revisions to your manuscript, it will be returned to you via email.

After the manuscript is returned to you, it will be your responsibility to go through all revisions and comments. All digital comments, questions, or edits will be tracked through the Microsoft Word track changes function.

*Some of the edits will be accompanied by a report, as well, depending on the type of service needed.

What happens next?

If you've paid for a specific service - a copy edit, for example - this is when you will decide if you'd like to go ahead with proofreading or if you'd prefer to publish right away.

If you've paid for one of the editing packages (Amber, Topaz, or Amethyst), this is when you would send the manuscript back to me for the final rounds of proofreading.

While you are going through the revision process, please feel free to reach out with any questions or concerns you may have.

I am here with you until the end!
